Philanthropic funding from organisations allows us to seed fund new groundbreaking research into the big health issues currently affecting Australian children including allergies, asthma, cancer, diabetes, premature birth, obesity, genetic diseases and mental health. For every dollar donated, we leverage a further $6 from external sources.
Big W
Over the past seven years, BIG W has made an enormous contribution to Heart Research, raising over $1.3 million through a range of fundraising initiatives.
Unfortunately, heart disease remains the leading killer of children under the age of five, with 1 in 100 children born with a heart problem. BIG W’s commitment and leadership in tackling this issue are immense and have allowed us to build a team and resources to undertake world-class research.
We are deeply grateful for the commitment, passion and enthusiasm that the BIG W team brings to their fundraising and our team loves the opportunity to thank store managers personally when they visit Murdoch Children's Research Institute every year to see our research first-hand.

Foxtel has generously supported Murdoch Children's Research Institute for 10 years. Through the Foxtel Lap, Step-a-thon and Philanthropic support, Foxtel has contributed more than $6M in fundraising whilst also providing significant media and advertising support. This contribution has been vital and has helped our researchers tackle the most difficult health challenges facing our children today.
